Speed and Operation Tips for Stable Router Bit Hole Milling

Standard speed settings and operating specifications for wood hole router bit processing

High-quality hole router bits can only exert optimal performance with standard speed and correct operation. Improper parameters are the main cause of wood burning, edge cracking and tool damage.

The basic speed rule is simple: the larger the hole diameter and the harder the wood, the lower the rotating speed. Small-diameter holes in softwood adapt to high-speed milling, while large-diameter and hard wood holes need low-speed and stable cutting to avoid excessive friction heat.

During operation, fix the wood workpiece firmly to prevent displacement and shaking. Keep the tool vertical and feed evenly, do not press hard for rapid cutting. Excessive pressure will squeeze wood fibers, causing internal cracking and rough hole walls.

Timely lift the tool for chip removal during deep hole processing to avoid chip jamming and tool overheating. Standard operation not only ensures smooth and beautiful holes, but also effectively extends the service life of hole router bits.
