How To Tell Low‑Quality Router Bits Before Purchase
Low‑quality router bits bring many troubles: blunt cutting edge, easy chipping, heavy vibration during operation and poor workpiece surface. Many workshops suffer loss caused by unqualified tools.
You can judge quality through appearance. High‑quality carbide welding position is smooth and uniform. Inferior bits show uneven welding gaps, bubbles or overflow solder, which may lead carbide tip falling off during cutting.

Check cutting edge surface. Qualified bits own polished, sharp edge without tiny cracks or nicks from factory. If you see chipping, rough grinding traces on brand‑new bits, avoid using them.
Shank precision is another key point. Bad tolerance of shank will create obvious vibration while rotating, leaving wavy marks on wood surface. Irregular coating peeling off also indicates poor‑quality production.
For bulk purchase, sample test is strongly suggested. Test real cutting performance before placing large orders, so you can avoid large economic losses.
